I choose to examine Transom. The music adds an element of mystery to the piece as he transitions through different still frames of different structures. The angels each add an element of perspective to the piece. AS the music moves through different stages so does the frame of the video toying with different shapes, light, and working with lines to recreate the idea of movement. This movement gives the audience an ominous affect and the video progresses translucently to and ends with a black screen, leaving the audience empty.
This is interesting to me because life moves in a current that is encouraged by the progression of ideas and human interactions. The video embodies this theme of movement through the different scenes.

Human existence is in constant motion, each second of time we're evolving as life is translucent with what stands beyond the idea of space and time, both of which were portrayed in Cubism art revolution. Van Gogh hypothesized that with the evolution of the camera that a 2-D field of perspective would lose the interest of the masses. Similarly, counter culture artist such as Rudi Stern, believed that art was in light, once stating "a simple light bulb hanging in a room is art inside perspective" I find this idea that light is not only a reflexive element but is the most identifiable medium in the environment in which his idea stemmed from. Though his masterpiece is now a part of our everyday lives, hanging inside gas stations, in restraints, his concept to redefine light and perspective to "set the world alight" has conjured similar feelings about the revolutionary power of art.
Although much is not known about Tony Martin his work first emerged in 1961, taking a psychedelic journey through the exploration of color, form, sound, movement- toying with each two human sense, but engaging the mind. I followed this netwrok of artist from a well known figure-Richard Aldcroft- one of the first artist to be publicly associated this acid. Synthesizing in this studio apartment in New York, Aldcroft, created a telescope through the use of oils mixing them, experimenting with the relationships of mixture and form. Martin took me on a ride through various places, enriched with color, perplexing in form and did what only the best art can do "Art is a lie that makes you realize the truth" Picasso. Tony Martin
